Everything that the human being does has social function. However, in Art, I believe that in the exact moment of the creation, the work should already have a social concern. The function will be the consequence. So, in this series of oils that now I present, I decided to approach the social and economical differences that represent the current Brazilian society. The initial idea would be to present something like "the both sides of the same coin." However, it would not have sense to use conventional situations, since the idea would not reach the intended impact. In that way, after some studies, I achieved to the "Social Transpositions."

I used the child as main element due to their no corruption of concepts, what expresses, for me, a rest of hope in our society. As much the rich children as the poor, they present a healthy aspect to reinforce the impression of purity, in spite of the social and conceptual oppression imposed by us, adults.

I put the same children in identical situations, however in opposite conditions to show the human equality in natural terms and the social injustice in human terms.
